well made, strong, rich leather and a sole that is very supportive, the Shark is incredibly comfortable, as are all Mephisto shoes. Not your made in china cheapies that fall apart under average use, these are hand made from Europe and although I was not a fan of sandals to begin with, these have won me over. I even wear them year round, as they are more comfortable than any non-Mephisto shoe I have ever worn. Far superior to even Birkenstock or Born, these are the best sandals made by Mephisto.
