5 out of 5 stars Zoobooks   November 16, 2008

I have been ordering Zoobooks for several years for my grandson. He loves them. When we go for hikes on our city trails or to the zoo, he is always giving me information that he learned in Zobooks on the animals we see. I am fascinated with all the knowledge he has gained from Zoobooks.

1 out of 5 stars Ordered Aug. 1; Says my first one won't be until October?   September 10, 2008

Umm. Can't review the product but am frustrated by the delay. Or do they all come at once? Who knows? Amazon has stayed in touch but the actual vendor doesn't seem to be keeping up. My kiddo wants them bad so I hope they are as good as the commercials make them seem!

5 out of 5 stars Second Generation Subscriber   July 4, 2008

This was my favorite magazine when I was a kid, and now I've subscrubed for my three-year-old nephew who loves it as well. It doesn't look as though the content has changed much in the last twenty-five years, only the cover design is notably different, but they're still as good today as I remember from when I was a kid.
Each magazine features a different animal, and is packed with photos and illustrations showing different species, skeletal and muscular structure, and interesting facts. The pictures and illustrations are great for young kids, and the information educates older kids. I've seen them for sale at a lot of zoos individually. The page count is a bit low, but that's mostly because there are no advertisements. This is mostly a reference/educational magazine, it doesn't have games and such that many children's magazines have, but they're also the kind that you can keep for years and continue to enjoy. I highly recomend this magazine for any kid who loves animals. Would also be good for a classroom, I'd think.

5 out of 5 stars Starting Our Second Year With Zoobooks   July 21, 2007

We subscribed to Zoobooks for our son as a gift for his birthday last year. He loved borrowing copies from the school library and has always been extremely interested in animals. I knew that Zoobooks was high-quality and no advertising, so it would be money well spent. He has loved getting the magazine each month and makes a point of marking the calendar when one issue arrives so he can count ahead and know when to expect the next one. He reads every issue cover to cover, again and again, and is proud of his collection. As it's getting close to his birthday this year, he made a point of telling me that he would really like to keep getting Zoobooks, so we have renewed our subscription for another year. I highly recommend this magazine.

5 out of 5 stars THE BEST books to capture interest   May 6, 2007

I have been buying these for years thru a Teachers Supply store and using them in HomeSchooling. These can be used for all ages because the pictures are so dynamic and colorful - little ones eyes are glued and the teenagers (even if not interested in animals and science) get drawn into reading the fasinating facts and information. Adults pick them up and read them from cover to cover.
