Product Description 3Com EtherLink NIC 3C905C-TX-M enables Pre-Boot and remote management of the desktop even if a PC fails to boot. It also lowers TCO by eliminating costly visits to the desktop. This version of 3Com's Fast EtherLink XL network interface card offers several new software and hardware developments. Chief among these are the Parallel Tasking II technology and the DynamicAccess software, both of which bring greater performance and intelligence to the NIC.

It just works...even with BeOS! January 25, 2008 Ronald L. Russell (Pangaea) I use the Be Operating System (BeOS), and therefore, sometimes have trouble finding hardware which works with the system. I recently upgraded from dial-up internet to dsl, and needed a NIC which was compatible with BeOS. The 3Com 3C905C-TX-M was suggested, so I ordered it from a seller here on Amazon. It arrived promptly, I installed it, booted the computer and turned on networking in the software, and...I was connected, as easy as that. I didn't even have to install a driver (although a driver disc for Windows was included). Since the install, I've observed that, as expected, surfing and downloads are much faster using the 3Com NIC and dsl than they were using my old modem and dial-up. That this would be so was a given. What came as an added surprise is that my browser is more stable, no longer locking up every so often as before. The only change is the 3Com and dsl, so my hat is off to 3Com for making dsl possible with BeOS. If it works with an obscure operating system like BeOS, I've no doubt that it will also work with Windows, so I'm considering ordering another 3Com for a Windows computer which I wish to make dsl ready.
Works with Norton Ghost August 21, 2006 D. Nelson (New England) I had trouble using Broadcom NetXtreme (b57xx) with Norton Ghost. And this card fixed the problem. 3com is a standard nic, and the driver often works with "Intel 100 Pro (E100B)" nics too.
Outdated Garbage April 13, 2006 A. Ring (Chicago) This card will not operate under any version of Windows Server, and per 3Com is not supposed to work under Windows XP (though one is working on my XP box). Outdated garbage. Should be tossed out, not sold to unsuspecting buyers.
