Easy to assembly, but the switch for the autofeeder just worked twice May 20, 2008 M. Pantin (Weston,Fl) Is very easy to assembly but the auto feeder machine that came with the Pitching machine just work twice. Then it doesnt work no more. The "speed" is just quick for young boys,so be carefull.
A couple of improvements are needed. May 24, 2007 Ray Abrams (Reno, NV USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
First of all, we love our pitching machine! There are a couple of areas in which it could be improved though. One being the ability to adjust the speed of the pitch. I would say it comes out at about 40-45 miles per hour, which is fine for adults, but for the younger kids, too fast. Another thing is the alarm. We have this machine in our back yard and whenever you pitch the ball, a horrible, loud alarm goes off. I felt sorry for my neighbors having to listen to it, as well as the person "pitching" the ball, so I figured out a way to silence the alarm, and it's much better now. The last problem we had is the fact that it has to be plugged in. I was hoping they would offer a battery option, so we could take it down to the park and play there. We happen to have also gotten the batting cage, so it's ok to do at home, but I would imagine a lot of people just don't have the space in their yard to use it, and would like to take it to an open space. The only option you have is to buy a portable generator and lug that with you. It's a fun thing to have, but I wish they would have thought it through a little better.

Pitching machine is easy to set up and use. Auto feed works well. Good for beginner training. NOTE - the "buy these together" option for ATEC balls is misleading and wrong. The Franklin uses hollow plastic balls (6 provided with machine) and the ATEC are solid and too heavy to use in the Franklin. Costing me shipping both ways to correct Amazon's advice.
