Editorial Review No matter how you slice it, Jet Force Gemini is one tough game. But the frustration of playing this epic is tempered by the sheer magnitude and quality found within. Be forewarned, this run-and-gun action-fest is not for everyone. In fact, novices may be better off letting seasoned gamers fight over this morsel. Jet Force Gemini includes three complete characters, more than 15 unique weapons, smart artificial intelligence (AI), and the rescue of Ewok-like creatures from giant space insects. For those who don't have an extra 30 to 60 hours to burn, JFG feels like the most bloated, uncut Hollywood epic ever. Yes, the game is deep, but not good enough to wade through enormous hours of gameplay. Buying JFG is a commitment, one that will have die-hards playing gleefully for many months, and the rest of us wincing each time we need to restart a level after being annihilated. --Jeff Young Pros: - An amazing array of gameplay styles, weapons, and bosses
- Colorful graphics
- Good value
Cons: - Excruciatingly hard and excessively long
- Choppy animation
- Difficult control scheme
Amazon.com Product Description After seeing his parents murdered by space pirates, Juno swore to fight evil in all its manifestations. Displaying lightning-quick reflexes and extraordinary self-possession, Juno is known throughout the Union for keeping calm in the midst of the most ferocious firefight. When drones stealthily board the Jet Force's scout craft, Juno provides cover so his comrades can escape. Juno is one of three characters you can play as in Jet Force Gemini. The other two are Lupus the doggie, and Vela the pretty-but-tough space adventuress.

Fun, but could've used some work June 11, 2008 Aside from the horrible controls that often leave you dead, the somewhat poor animation, the occasional feeling of never being able to finish a level, this game is great. Filled with fun weapons, enemies, characters, and bug goo, I absolutely loved this game when I was younger. Upon playing it now nearly ten years later, I'm better aware of its flaws, but still enjoy it immensely; this game is one of an above-average level. Probably one of my favorite aspects of this game are some of the great and expansive landscapes; everyone knows most N 64 games just had some background pasted onto walls, but this game doesn't do that (much).
I took one star off from those infuriating controls.
Way back in 1999... February 9, 2008 there was Jet Force Gemini! It's a very cool game and it's got cool weapons! There's nothing in the world compared to this!
A Gem That Didnt Get The Recognition It Deserved! June 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of those titles that once again got overlooked by the gaming community. I think the main reason it wasnt successful was because it was way to advanced for the N64 gamer. It was more of a futuristic game just born on the wrong system( if this game was released on the gamecube or nintendo wii I think it would have been a top seller) Not only was it a very creative game with tons of action and great boss battles, but all 3 characters had to be used on certain levels in order to beat the game. overall this is a great experience and even if you never played it and are 20 or 30 years old it is still a great title and definately worth a purchase for only 5 bucks! well what are you waiting for? go get this game!
an Action Packed Hollywood Epic April 29, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
After the present game consoles have been released I never thought I would come back to this. But this is one thing I couldnt ignore. Jet Force Gemini is without a doubt one of the greatest action packed third person shooters of all time. At first the game seems a little simple as you start off with one character and only a simple pistol. The level is also pretty straight forward and nothing greatly impressive happens at this time. But once you come across the second level, gaining the machine gun for the first time, you enter one of the most action packed epic experiences on an alien spaceship-and this is rarely seen through action shooters.
The game's basic goal is to search for and rescue the Tribals(Ewok like creatures), who've been attacked and enslaved by alien insects(large and small). The enemies carry a great deal of AI. They can run for cover, dodge, weave, and they have weak points and defenses. Some enemies use different attacks, depending on whether they've spotted you or not. Others are mindless drones who use sheer numbers to overwhelm.
Jet Force Gemini has such a wide variety of awesome gameplay that it could be broken up into four separate games and still receive its strong reviews. Constant action, Adventure, Sniping and stealth and a great deal of exploration, with both Third-Person and First-person views. Throughout the game, as you come across each of the three characters, who each have their different special abilities, you will notice that some areas cannot be accessed by certain characters and require others to return to the same level to complete it 100%.
The game is overloaded with atmosphere within both its action scenes, incredible soundtrack and its great level designs that some may notice have a resemblence of Hyrule from Zelda. The graphics are colourful and stunning. The bosses throughout are probably the most impressive bosses ive seen in any game at that time.
There is one thing about the game that isnt entirely a flaw, but you still need to be aware of. Its the controls that may take a little getting used to. For a game of constant action, exploration, stunning graphics and impressive story and bosses, Jet Force Gemini feels like the largest action packed Hollywood epic ever.
A Classic from 1999! November 20, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is one of the best games from the last 10 years. Awesome game play and art design. Too bad it wasn't a hit. The AI of the bugs is amazing very hard to shoot them sometimes. I never completed the game either. I do think all of the endless collecting was a bit tiresome. Perhaps, the game only flaw. Anyways, pick this game up. Where else can you play a game that has a dog with jet pack and machine gun attached to it?
